Mythologies hold a mirror for us to peer into the world of the archetypes which exist within the realms of the unconscious, to which we are all connected. They teach us about the underlying internal journeys which we can expect to experience whilst we are human.
Archetypes are the universal patterns or blueprints that weave through the psyche of all humans. To enter into the unconscious is to immerse yourself into the realm of the archetypes. Each one of us is connected to specific archetypal energies within the larger field of our soul. We can call on any archetype at any time. However, there are ones which will naturally express through our vessel in this life time due to our specific make up. When an archetype starts to move through us we enter into the internal alchemical process of that particular energy.
Mythology is a way that we can learn about the energies embodied by specific archetypes. These include the Gods, Goddesses, Deities, Hero's, Heroins, Unified Consciousness's etc. These are all energies held within the greater mind that we are also connected to. Each time we engage with Hekate, Isis, Sekhmet or any of the other great beings from the ancient world, we call the alchemy of their archetype into our field. This marks the beginning of an energetic process occurring which will lead us to transformation in their own specific ways. Naturally certain archetypes work their way through our fields without us calling them in. By becoming conscious of them we can lean into each stage of the journey, making sure we do not trap ourselves in a negative loop or cycle.
Knowing the myths and making an effort to connect with the symbology held within them allows us to peer beneath the surface and enter in to the depths, where we can discover much greater meanings for life. This awareness assists us with leaning into the energies moving through us and the transformations taking place within our psyche as we journey through life. One stage leading to the next.
There are a number of different transformative pathways that humans journey through. The tales which call to us most are the ones that we hold resonance with. Despite circumstances varying, the trials of life are not unique to us. We see parallel stories running throughout the ancient world, psychological studies, fictional books, through the lives of historical figures and indeed our own. Once we recognise this, we have an opportunity to engage more fully with our own souls journey and shift out of any karmic loops that would keep us trapped. The struggles of deaths and rebirths we will inevitably encounter through human becomings are eased once we know this is a part of life's patterns.
The power of myth is held within story. Story by passes the logical mind and calls out to our souls. An echo of familiarity and of soul recognition begins to rise internally, as the teachings reach to the part within us that recognise how the energy of specific myths are manifesting through us and our own lives. Story is a way that the archetypes can make themselves known to us and explain the qualities and energies they embody.
There are many layers to mythologies, which reveal themselves the more time we spend immersing ourselves in the story. The more we contemplate the myth, the archetype, the character the more they reveal themselves to us. All are guiding us to look within and learn to read the symbols. Symbolism is a way to pass between realms, to find the deeper teaching and allow it to arise from within ourselves. As above, so below.
Each archetype is a complete alchemical process within itself. The myths which tell the great tales of their lives, their experiences, struggles, triumphs etc are the mirrors we can use to look into processes as we begin to know them through ourselves. Myth teaches us about the blueprints, the life patterns held within the unconscious realms which every human is connected into. It’s when we start to understand the archetypes and their teachings that we can work with the energetics and deepen our connection with the universe and with our life. We all have different components within our souls pattern or blueprint.
